dřevěné fotoalbum, what is it?
Dřevěné fotoalbum (Wooden photoalbum) is a product of Janova ruční práce (Jan's handmade). It's a photoalbum with your own design, covered in wooden wrap.
what is it made from?
Our products are made of plywood. We use wood called "ceiba". Here is more information about it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceiba
The wrap consists of two 9 mm thin planks. There are papers between these planks.
wood? is it heavy?
Yes, it is wood. However it's really light. The weight is only 900 g together with 30 inserted papers.
what is the size?
Now we produce 3 standard paper sizes - A3 (420 x 297 mm), A4 (297 x 210 mm), A5 (214 x 150 mm). Wooden planks are about +20 mm bigger at each size.
what is inside?
There are 30 pieces of 160g paper tied inside.
can i get more papers?
Yes, you can. Basic photoalbum has 30 pieces of paper. Every single extra paper costs 2,50 CZK. However we recommend you to put 50 papers at maximum.
how are the photos fixed?
It depends on you, what do you prefer... You can glue the photos straight to the papers using ordinary glue. You can also use those special "photo corners" to stick the photo at desired position. Those corners still can be found at specialised photo shops - we do not mean that software...:)
do you separate off the papers?
If you want, you can order the paper separation. We use the translucent tracing-paper to seperate pages. This charge is 5 CZK per every single piece of tracing-paper.
how many photos could be there?
Of course, it depends on the size of album, on the amount of papers, on the size of photos, ... If you buy a standard A4 album with 30 pages inside and if you have 10x15 cm photos, you could insert 120 photos at maximum inside...
can i choose the motive?
Yes, definitely! You can choose every album of our gallery. If you do not like any of them, let us know - we will design a unique motive especially for you - for FREE!
can i have my own picture carved?
Yes! We make unique albums to make your dreams come true... Send us your picture, we will carve it for you! However at first the motive must be consulted to prevent unmakable design...
what is the inverted carving?
We offer two types of carving.
1) standard carving - at first the planks are coloured and later the carving is made. So the carving is light-coloured.
2) inverted carving - the carving is made to the solid wood and coloured later. That's why the colour get inside the carving. At the end we rub the planks, so the they are lighter than the dark carving...
how is tied?
Now we use a manmade bast. It is strong and long enough.
is it reliable?
Yes, as long as we have produced our products there are no complaints about tying.
what is on surface?
Album is covered with high quality natural based floor wax. It provides a long life cycle of your album. What's more it is healthy and smells good as wood...

how long lasts the production?
The album is made in 2-3 weeks. If you order the album from foreign country you have to count with longer delivery...
are there special discounts?
Yes, there is zero post-charge if you order 3 pieces. If you order 5 or more, there is 25% discount.
how is it paid?
We prefer paying in advance because of the individual production. If we make a album with your own design, there is no chance to sell it to anyone else if you do not like to recieve the album... Thank you for your comprehension.
is it possible to see your products face to plank?
Yes, however only in the Czech Republic. Let us know and we can make a special meeting and show you everything you are interested in.
